Thick allergies and runny noses that
I hoped were gone. New heat inside my knees
Has crawled its way towards my thighs, where flat
And recent hurt runs parallel to both
My legs' pulled muscles. Ibuprofin helps,
But not like I would like. The older growth
Within the bone is potent; younger yelps
Still resonate across the calcium
Deposits that accrued through pre-teen years.
Substandard balance means titanium
Replacements nowadays, but back then: fears
Of wasted efforts, faulty fixes... this
Is where "design" seems just a bit remiss.
