Day 27: Unbounded

Where is the color in a drop of rain?
Somewhere within each slim and focused globe,
Beneath the glossy firmament, a strain
Of hue remains, a luminescent robe
Of colored strands. And dressed in rain, she stands
And glitters like a starry night, the lines
Of water ling'ring. Smiling 'neath her hands,
She presses back the shore, a light that shines
Like moonlight o'er her cloudy hair, and flows
In satin tides; these lunar cloths across
Her undressed skin, reflected there in those
Unbounded worlds of rain.  She slips the dross
Of consequence; thus paired in dream, we dance,
And tempt misfortune with each yearning glance.

As with Day 26, this is playing catch-up. This is Saturday's sonnet, which now puts me behind just Sunday and today. This is a sister sonnet to Slip, and maybe gets closer to what I was trying to say there. It didn't start out that way, but line 5 had designs of its own.

Wow. I never guessed "Slip" was headed into the heady erotic and passionate "Unbounded"! La, but this beautifully creates that marvelous fantasy and what exactly is the rain, seeing we have the old "Singing in the Rain" and other references to rain, I thought it was slightly negative or had negative tones, but this seems to cast that grey strain off as the dancers luxuriate in a passionate dream of a moment.
I am thinking it is not so much as playing "catch-up" as writing a year of sonnets, maybe? Then 365 more or less consecutive days later, tada! Or no?
Excellent with provocative imagery and depiction.

Yeah, Slip didn't hit where I wanted to hit - the image of a girl dressed (happily, in dream) in rain. And I love the out you've given me - a year of sonnets, one for each day, even if I fall behind (as I have now missed three days). Thanks!
