Day 166: Bloom

He settles on libido, heated bags
Of day-old food he cooked the day before,
And chatroom friends. The conversation lags
In phases; first the children, then the poor
Relations, distant cousins, sisters, mothers--
An error of typography. The room
Is spinning, spinning; he support the others,
A mix of foreign contracts, dolls in bloom,
Mysterious crypto-names and songs, a slight
And bottle-necked society of Adams,
Gorillas, Eves, Neanderthals, and light.
Our genesis is still expected, madam;
We only speak it faster, cleaning out
The fridge and drinking in a time of drought.
