For feet to meet shoes sockless. My effete
Prefrontal, ivory-tower cortex checked
Foot morals at the door -- so boots, and open-
Toed sandals, stockings, fishnets, painted nails
And dangling ankle bracelets while we're coping
Abyssmally with toe-rings, all assail
The foot establishment until we need
Conservative shoes to make this body great
Again, just common-sense apparel keyed
To God, to save our soles and keep us straight
And able-gaited after dark, so we
Can keep ourselves bare-foot, devout, and free.
