They say the body recreates itself.
In terms of seven years, we're plagiarizing
Old follicles and lifting faces, self-
Aware, from photographs. After this revising,
We check the benchmarks set for us: our brand-
New brains have slightly-different folds; our faces,
A little less familiar than planned,
Have fresher cells; our atoms are in places
That match identity. The picture's not
A perfect fit, but it'll do; we jammed
It full of pixels, dust, and hair, and taught
It to say "cheese" not long before we damned
The cycle. Dropping knock-off cells on top
Of cells, we doubt, but not enough to stop.
